Steven Nsimba and Mirel Rădoi won the trophies for the player and coach of August 2025 + rankings
Steven Nsimba (29 years old) and Mirel Rădoi (44 years old) awarded their prizes for the player, respectively the coach of August. The French striker wins his first trophy in the project “Best”, while the coach of the Superliga leader is at the second prize, after the one in March
For the trophy “The player of August” Gazeta nominated 5 footballers: Steven Nsimba (Craiova University), Daniel Bîrligea (FCSB), Denis Ciobotariu (Rapid), Ștefan Baiaram (Craiova University) and Sebastian Mailat (FC Botoșani).
Steven Nsimba won for the first time the “Player of the Moon” award
The winner of August 2025 was appointed, for the first time, Steven Nsimba, The player of Craiova University.
He signed in July, and in August he offered a real show, demonstrating his football class! Six goals and a decisive pass represent the French balance in the Craiova University T -shirt.
He managed a “double” with CFR Cluj (3-2), another one with Csíkszereda (2-1), then also scored against Sparta Trnava and Istanbul Basakşehir. The decisive pass offered it in the equal of Botosani, when it sent it perfectly to Alex Cicâldău. In addition, he checked minutes in all nine teams played by the team in the last month.
On the preliminary list were: Darius Olaru (FCSB), Elvir Koljic (Rapid), Adel Betteb (FC Arges), Alin Roman (UTA Arad), Patrick Fernandes, Daniel Armstrong (Dinamo), Florin Tanase (FCSB).
Mirel Rădoi, for the second time in 2025 “Coach of the Moon”
At the second category, “the coach of the month”, Gazeta nominated 3 technicians: Mirel Rădoi (Craiova University), Constantin Gâlcă (Rapid) and Zeljko Kopic (Dinamo).
The winner was chosen Mirel Rădoi, the coach of the superliger leader who wins the trophy for the second time, after the one in March 2025.
August is one that the “lion” technician will hardly forget. Qualification in the Conference League groups after a double victory in the play-off with the Turks from Istanbul Basakşehir.
The first position in the Superligi ranking and no lost match! What followed? Successes with CFR Cluj, Trnava, Hermannstadt, Csikszereda, Petroleum, plus the equal in Botosani. And all this after a real mathe match: nine in number!
On the preliminary list were: Adrian Mihalcea (UTA Arad), Leo Grozavu (FC Botosani) and Bogdan Andone (FC Argeș).

The algorithm used to establish the winners is a very simple one. The GSP editorial is the nominations, based on statistics and clear performance figures, then vote 3 categories: GSP.ro readers, editorial journalists and five specialists (former footballers or important coaches), which change from one month to another. The first ranked in each top receives 5 points, the one on the 2nd place, 4 points, etc. GSP editorial vote matters double.
