Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari pilots, analyzed the result of qualifications in the Grand Formula 1 prize in Monza.

  • The Grand Prize of Formula 1 in Monza takes place on Sunday, from 4:00 pm. Will be livetext on gsp.ro and live on antena 1 and antenaplay.ro

  • GSP reporter Sergiu Alexandru is in Italy and transmits all the information on the spot.

After looking good in training, Leclerc and Hamilton did not keep up with McLaren rivals and Max Verstappen. The currency will leave 4, and the British on 10, due to a penalty of 5 positions. At the end of the qualifications, the two drew a few conclusions and prefaced the race.

Charles Leclerc: “The 4th place was the maximum possible”

I am very pleased with my third qualifying session. This position, fourth on the grid, was the maximum we could get with our car.

I had a very good race here last year, so I will do my best to repeat that. Not just because to climb the podium in Monza is an incredible feeling, but also for our fans, who have offered us so much support throughout the weekend. It will be very difficult. So far, Red Bull and McLaren have had an advantage, but we will give our best to make something special to happen in the race. ”Said Charles Leclerc, the winner of 2024.

It was completed by Hamilton: “Overall, so far it was a positive weekend. Without that penalty, the qualification result would have been satisfactory. The team worked without ceasing, and the fans made each day a special one, through their energy. This motivated me even more.

Starting from the tenth position will not be easy, and the strategy will be the key. But I have shown a good rhythm on long lefts and this is a circuit where the overruns are possible. We will work hard until the beginning of the race and we hope to get a result that will make them proud of the fans. “

The 4th place on the grid proved to be a good place to start last year, but now I have not done it intentionally! It was a very close struggle, the difference between the 1st place and the 15th place is very small. I am satisfied with the way the team has worked so far this weekend.

We will see what we can do, knowing that our rhythm on long extinguishers was good on Friday. It is a very long straight line until the first turn, so let's see where we are afterwards. It will be a long race, in which the degradation of tires will be very important. We have a good top speed, because we were quite aggressive in choosing the level of pressing on the ground. But, as usual in Monza, you have to choose between being fast in straight or cornering. In the race, everything is possible.
