Romania will receive 300 refugees from Egypt and Kenya. The Government Decision was approved

The government approved, on Thursday, September 4, a decision providing for a share of 300 refugees who will be relocated to Romania between 2026-2027.

Thus, our country will receive 300 Sudanese, Eritreen and/or South-Sudanese refugees from Egypt and/or Kenya, according to the decision to relocate the refugees in Romania.

“The logistical requirement for the selection missions, the transfer and the assistance in Romania of the 300 persons will be provided by the national programs, according to Regulation (EU) no. 1147/2021 for establishing the fund for asylum, migration and integration”, informs a government press release.

According to the government, by this measure, “Our country confirms the commitment to contribute, in a voluntary way, to the Plan of Humanitarian Relocation and Event of the European Union, in accordance with the provisions of the European Pact on Migration and Asylum.”.
