Questioned about Chivu's situation, Angelescu acknowledged that he is happy because the technician was not reached by Rapid then. The reason? The Romanian would not have had the chance to reach Inter that quickly.
In addition, the shareholder of Giulesti is of the opinion that Inter technician has all the qualities to become the greatest coach in the history of Romania, taking into account the seriousness he proves.
“He has the chance to become the best coach in the history of Romania, this is my opinion. Now it's very good. I had the opportunity several times to talk to him, not necessarily now, when I negotiated with Rapid, but because we have common friends.
Cristi is part of the generation of players after the golden generation and, from my point of view, was the most important. Mutu may have been the most talented, but Chivu, of course, was the most complete.
I now see him much more focused on what he wants to do in the coach's career than he was as a player, more serious, if he can say so. From the discussions with him it seems to me a very good technician. He took the correct steps, from the juniors up, and I am very happy for him. I don't regret not coming to Rapid.
I'm glad he didn't get to us, it was clear that he wouldn't have come to Inter if he came here. How not to enjoy? He arrived at Inter, one of the biggest clubs in the world, a club in the Top 10 all-time. He also won the Champions League, and everything. For Romania it is a big plus. Why be upset that I didn't come to Rapid?
He is a very good coach and you see that. I am convinced that at Rapid he would have done an excellent job, but looking back, better than he came. And at Parma he did his job with a peak and thick. I am proud of him, “said Angelescu, at the first sport.
