Earlier, the Operation Interflex program was supposed to operate until the end of 2025. Its action was extended due to the need to support the defense capacity of Ukraine, strengthen the deterrence in the future, as well as to ensure the protection of the national interests of Great Britain, the release said.
Great Britain adapts these exercises, in particular, there will be more short courses focused on the basic training of infantrymen, as well as additional courses for commanders and instructors.
According to Khili, more than 50 thousand Ukrainian fighters were trained in Britain. The minister called the country the “leader among the 13 others”, which are also involved in Interflex.
“This is important for Ukraine, and this is important for the UK. Safe Ukraine is safe Europe,” Hili said.
Context
The multinational training program for the Ukrainian military Operation Interflex, which was headed by the UK, started on June 26, 2022. Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Albania, Estonia, Kosovo, Lithuania and Romania also take part in it, the British government reported.
