In order to minimize the risk of deficiencies, the Kremlin banned gas from 1 to 31 August. As the Reuters agency notes, this year private retail networks did not create sufficient fuel reserves to meet high demand in the summer.

“Currently, gasoline production is at a normal level for summer. Sales also correspond to expectations. However, private traders lack stocks,” said a representative of a large oil company.
