Rostelecom recalled the fines and criminal liability for damage to the communication lines laid underground

In the summer, the Krasnoyarsk branch of Rostelecom recorded an increase in cases of damage to cable communication lines caused by unauthorized excavation work by residents.

In particular, in the first two weeks of August, the company's repair teams had to immediately eliminate the impulses of fiber -fiber lines in Krasnoyarsk, Lesosibirsk and on the trunk line in the Emelyanovsky municipal district.

“The main causes of damage are illegal construction and communal work. Inattentiveness or unwillingness to agree on these actions with specialists often lead to serious consequences: thousands of subscribers, enterprises, social facilities, as well as emergency response services – police, firefighters and ambulance, ”explained Mikhail Safonov, director of the Rostelecom branch of the Rostelecom.

Rostelecom warns about the need to strict compliance with the rules of earthwork. It is important to first agree on all events with representatives of the company and accurately determine the location of communications on the site. Failure to comply with legislative norms and damage to cable lines can lead to administrative or criminal liability, as well as the obligation to compensate for the damage and costs of restoration.
