The building prefabrication industry in Poland is an increasingly important part of the construction sector – according to the analysis of the Polish Trade and Investment Agency (PAIH). Prefabrication involves the production of building elements in factory conditions, and then transporting them to the construction site, where they are installed, creating the final structure of the building.

The industry includes the production of both heavy concrete and wooden elements, as well as modular construction.

“2025-2026 may be particularly important to him due to the large influx of KPO funds, the spending of which is associated with time restrictions. Cost and temporary pressure and openness to new technologies may encourage private and public investors, e.g. local governments, to return towards modular buildings” – indicated in the analysis.

As the authors pointed out, the largest companies in the prefabrication industry in Poland include, among others: Danwood, PEKABEX, DMD Modular, Unihouse, MOD21, Budizol, Ekoinbud, Andrewex Construction and Modular System.

After a temporary slowdown in 2023, the total revenues of the 100 largest manufacturers of prefabricated buildings made of wood, steel, concrete and expanded concrete in 2024 amounted to PLN 9.9 billion, of which PLN 4.8 billion fell on the segment of modular buildings. Greater interest in modular construction can be seen among both individual and commercial clients, such as developers, local governments and hotel chains interested in buildings with a larger volume.

According to PAIH estimates, by 2030, the modular construction market in Poland may reach PLN 7 billion.

In the opinion of experts, the increase in the value of the market of modular buildings is to result from a good overall economic situation, insufficient number of apartments, as well as increasing interest in modular construction among Poles, with increasing production facilities and the implementation of new technologies.

PAIH analysis also shows that the modern building prefabrication industry has significant export potential. Polish prefabricating companies offer high -quality products and services that meets international standards while maintaining competitive prices.

“Polish companies successfully implement projects on demanding markets, such as Germany, Scandinavia, Great Britain or Benelux countries,” the authors pointed out.

According to Research and Markets cited in the analysis, the value of the global modular construction market, which in 2021 amounted to $ 76.1 billion, is to increase to $ 109 billion until 2027. (PAP)
