Protests in Kiev and several Ukrainian cities on the rights of anti -corruption bodies


Similar protests also took place in other cities of Ukraine: in Lviv, in Kharkov, Dnieper, Zaporozhye and Odessa. These actions have already been called a “cardboard Maidan” or “Revolution on a carton” from pieces of cardboard boxes on which their participants write their slogans.
– We hope that our deputies will understand that despite the war, civil society is active with us. We observe what they are doing and we will not allow us to take away from the nation, granted by the constitution of power. We stand here and we will be until they finally hear us – said the Polish press agency Alina, holding a cardboard box with the inscription: “Go out the door, go back to the class and normally vote.”

On Thursday, the Supreme Council should consider the urgent presidential bill to restore the independence of anti -corruption organs: the National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NAB) and the Specialist Anti -Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP). The act is to reverse the changes from July 22, which deprived both autonomy institutionssubordinating them to the Prosecutor General Prosecutor supervised by President Volodymyr.
Wednesday's protest, as well as the previous one, lasting from July 22, took place in Kiev at Ivana Franka Square, which is adjacent to the presidential administration. All this so that the head of the state would convince himself of the dissatisfaction of people.

Participants of the campaign often referred to the revolution of dignity at Kiev Majdan [placu] Independence, pro -European protests from the turn of 2013 and 2014, which led to the removal of the then pro -Russian president Viktor Yanukovych.

Present at the protest deputy opposition to the Zelanski Party of the European Solidarity, former head of the Institute of National Remembrance of Ukraine Volodymyr Wiatrowycz, He estimated that on Thursday the Supreme Council would restore NAB and SAP rights.
– I think that the Zelanski Act, which is to fix the situation, will be adopted. But – and I want to emphasize it very much – it happens in violation of the law. Because tomorrow the presidential project, not in accordance with the regulations, is to be considered first, although the first should be considered a previously submitted parliamentary project in this matter – he explained the Polish Press Agency.
– Of course, we will support this project to restore the independence of Nab and SAP, but the way it is done shows that in the management of the state, in person at Zelanski, there is still no fully understanding that one should return to compliance with the law and cannot be broken – the deputy emphasized.
