31 persons withheld from the searches from the members of the piano and Purcel clans. 250,000 euros, jewelry, suspicious substances and luxury cars confiscated

31 people – 22 men and 9 women – were detained following an action coordinated by DIICOT prosecutors – central structure. Those concerned are investigated for the establishment of an organized criminal group, human trafficking, pimping and money laundering. Among the detainees are members of the piano and Purcel interlock clans.

Following the home searches carried out on July 30, the investigators raised significant amounts of money in various currencies (lei, euros, dollars, Swiss pounds and francs), estimated at about 250,000 euros.
Also, white weapons, airsoft guns, jewelry, luxury watches, various vegetables, crystalline and powder (which are under expertise) were discovered, as well as other means of proof, according to the statement transmitted by the General Police Directorate of the Municipality of Bucharest (DGPMB).
At the same time, the insurance seizure was ordered on four luxury cars, goods likely to come from criminal activities.
Today, July 31, the DIICOT prosecutors notified the judge of rights and freedoms within the Bucharest Court with the proposal of preventive arrest for 19 defendants (including a person already arrested in another file) and with the proposal of arrest for 6 other defendants, for a period of 30 days.
The operation was carried out with the support of the police from several structures of the Capital Police – including the Service of Violent Criminal Groups, the Sector Police, the Police Brigade for Public Transport, the Criminal Investigation Service – but also of the fighters from the Special Action and Gendarmes Service.
