Poczta Polska will receive a government lifebuoy. A specific amount was falling

The government at the Tuesday meeting adopted a draft law providing for the transfer of nearly PLN 2 billion in Poczta Polska to finance the obligation to provide a universal service – it was stated in a statement on the website of the National Health Faculty Currently, the limit of state expenditure for this purpose is about PLN 1.3 billion.

It is about the draft amendment to the Postal Law prepared by the Ministry of State Asset. The funds to be obtained by Poczta Polska are to be used to finance the obligation to provide a universal service in 2024 and 2025, and Poczta Polska would receive money for this purpose in 2026 and 2027.

Currently, the limits of state budget expenditure for this purpose are PLN 651 million for 2026-2027.

“These amounts are significantly lower than the estimated demand for funds from the state budget to finance the net cost of the obligation to provide universal services for 2024 and 2025” – wrote in the assessment of the effects of the project regulation. For this reason, this limit is to be increased to PLN 997 million in 2026 and to PLN 960 million in 2027.

The proposed provisions are to enter into force on January 1, 2026 to provide the operator with the designated payment of financing the net cost of universal postal services for 2024, and then – for 2025 – it was stated. (PAP)
