The Chinese Pan Zhanle, the Olympic champion and the World Recordman at 100 meters free, will not be in the final at the Singapore World Championships.

The 20 -year -old swimmer, considered one of the great favorite of the sample, along with David Popovici and Kyle Chalmers, failed to qualify from the semifinal. In fact, a single swimmer has qualified from the 8 of the semifinle, only the winner Kyle Chalmers.

It is an edition of shocking world championships for Pan Zhanle, seen as one of the greatest contemporary swimmers. The Chinese man was able to qualify even in the semifinals at 200 meters and, despite the fact that he displayed a challenging attitude towards Popovici, failed to achieve any notable result.

The surprise is only a passing state, because I entered a new era of the 100-meter free sample, Popovici swam 46.71 almost a few weeks ago. You have to go ahead, go back to workouts and see what and where you can improve, because you know that others are improving. Previously, 47 seconds was an almost insurmountable obstacle, now you need a time of 46 and something to reach the podium. This is a challenge for every swimmer. You have to go beyond your limits as much as you can. I know David swam the second distance of 50 meters faster than me a few weeks ago, but that's his story. I have mine. I am interested in 200 and 400 meters, it is important for my development to do well on those distances. I have to find a completely different rhythm but I really like this new challenge
