According to media findings, the monthly remuneration of the chairman of the National Broadcasting Council – after changes in the provisions of 2021 – reaches around PLN 17,800 gross. For comparison, the Prime Minister earns a little less, about PLN 17,500. Moreover, the chairman's salary does not end with a basic salary. There are also bonuses that in recent years have been over 100,000. PLN annually, significantly increasing the total income.
In addition to remuneration, the chairman of the KRRiT may count on additional privileges awarded as part of his function. Every day he uses the services of a driver, company car, secretariat or personal assistant. All this works thanks to the support of the Council Office, whose task is to ensure full organizational facilities.

The salary is not in the act
Importantly, however, the amount of the chairman's salary was not regulated in one specific legal act. The remuneration results from broadly extensive regulations covering salaries in public administration and individual executive decisions – such as ordinances or internal orders. For this reason, detailed amounts are not publicly published. Information on remuneration reaches the public mainly due to media reports, parliamentary interpellations as well as reports and analyzes of control institutions.
Experts emphasize that transparency in the matter of remuneration in such an important position could increase citizens' trust in public institutions. Clear finance rules in key offices would allow better understanding of the mechanisms of their operation. However, there are still no clear indications as to whether the full disclosure of the earnings of people at high levels of state administration will become a practice in the near future.
