The American Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Sunday that billionaire Elon Musk, who announced the day before his own political party, America Party, should be encouraged to focus on his business, rather than politics, AFP and Reuters, quoted by Agerpres.
“I believe that the board of directors of his various companies wanted him to return and run those companies, which is better than anyone,” said Scott Bessent, when asked at the CNN post if the announcement of the world's richest man worried the Trump administration.
The Musk – Trump conflict moves to a new level. The richest man in the world has made his political party: “America Party is created to play your freedom”
“I imagine that those administrative councils did not appreciate the announcement yesterday (Saturday) and will encourage him to focus on his entrepreneurial activities, not his political activities,” he continued.
According to him, the “principles” defended by the Musk commission were “very popular”, but “when you look at the polls, Elon was not.”

Trump and Musk, from allies to rivals
Elon Musk contributed over $ 270 million to Donald Trump's campaign for the White House and drove the Department for government efficiency (Doge), responsible to drastically reduce federal expenses. Musk was a regular in the oval office.
He left Doge in May to deal with his companies, especially Tesla, whose image and sales have suffered worldwide as a result of Musk's collaboration with Trump.
Shortly thereafter, Trump and Musk had a very harsh and public exchange of replies on the subject of Donald Trump's budget.
Positioning firmly against the budget law of the US president, which he accuses of increasing public debt, Elon Musk has promised in recent days of launching his own political party if the text is adopted.
He implemented his threat on Saturday, announcing the launch of his political formation, America Party-the American party.
“By involving even more in politics (…), Musk goes exactly in the opposite direction of what the shareholders/investors Tesla want him to do during this crucial period in Tesla history,” commented on Sunday Dan ives, senior analyst at Wedbush Secrities.
