Awards for many years of marriage? The new bill in the Senate provides up to 8,000 zloty

According to Wyborcza.biz, the assumptions of the proposals arose after the citizens sent a petition to the parliament, calling for the introduction of financial prizes for long -term marriages. Then the initiative was dealt with by the Senate, where the proposal met with support, especially among PiS politicians. As a result, the Legislative Office of the Senate has prepared a preliminary version of the regulation project, which aims to honor couples of many years of relationships.
One of the key elements of the project is the introduction of a “marriage jubilee benefit”, which would be part of the catalog of family benefits.

Project at the beginning of your path
Wyborcza.biz emphasizes that the road is still far from the possible adoption of the project. In order for the reform to enter into force, the bill must be adopted by the Sejm, then again by the Senate, and then the president must sign it. It all depends on the political consensus. Only then could the “marital jubilee benefit” go to the beneficiaries.
There is no lack of skepticism against the effects and costs of introducing such a solution. Both supporters and critics indicate possible consequences for the budget and an impact on the social perception of marriages.
“In 2025, there are 186 thousand couples with 50-year and longer experience. This would mean that you would have to pay them PLN 930 million next year, “we read on the portal.
