Ukraine does not like the “historical discourse” of Poland. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kiev reacts
This statement was made after the round table sessions, which the head of Ukrainian diplomacy Andriy Sybiha conducted with historians and experts for Ukrainian-Polish relations-explained in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kiev.
It emphasized that Sibiha in his speech emphasized Poland's comprehensive support for Ukraine since the beginning of the war on a full -scale war against Russia's aggression. He also assessed that this help is a testimony to real solidarity and strategic partnership between states.
– Our relations with neighboring Poland are extremely important from the point of view of common interests, as well as in the context of current challenges and threats in the face of the ongoing Russian armed aggression – said the minister.
– At the same time, the tests of some Polish politicians and political forces of unilateral interpretation and politicization of historical discourse in relations with Ukraine are becoming more clear, which in turn negatively affects the development of partnership between Ukraine and Poland and actually serves the interests of the Russian aggressor – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced.
She also reported that the participants of the Round Table recognized the need to solve sensitive issues based on objective historical facts, mutual understanding and respect for the historical memory of the nations of Ukraine and Poland.

During the meeting, the positive dynamics of the Ukrainian-Polish working group for historicals, which operates under the auspices of ministries of culture, and the continuation of search and exhumation works on the territory of two countries.
“Considering the irritability of historical issues in Ukraine's relations with Poland, as well as the appearance of dangerous tendencies to postpone strictly historical issues to the political plane, participants of the discussion considered to be deliberately proposing the Polish side of the renewal of the Ukrainian-Polish Forum of Historians and the Partnership Forum as a platform for the development of constructive dialogue, transferring irritable issues to the space of professional discussions with Polish historians, Strengthening objectivity in the assessment of the events of common history, searching for ways to prevent provocations, as well as preventing disinformation and public fueling of hostility between the nations of Ukraine and Poland ” – announced the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in a Facebook message.
