FCSB tried to obtain the “FCSB Steaua” verbal brand, but both Steaua București and ACS Academy Steaua New Generation have filed appeals to EUIPO. The European Forum analyzed the data sent by ACS Steaua New Generation, and based on them the EUIPO rejected a request made by lawyer Adrian Căvescu, representative of Becali's club, on June 16, 2023, for the use of the “FCSB Steaua” verbal trademark.

The forum from Alicante considered that “it could generate a high probability of confusion”, especially for the European public in Italy and Spain. In the document it is mentioned that the points in section C) of the decision, related to the similarities between brands in the European context, “are sufficient to reject the request”.
