Nicușor Dan is going to Odessa today, a massively attacked city of Russians in recent days, at the summit by Volodimir Zelenski

President Nicușor Dan participated in the Summit of Ukraine-Southeast Europe in Odessa, hosted by Ukrainian leader Volodimir Zelenski on Wednesday, announces the Presidential Administration. Odessa was Tuesday the target of a massive Russian attack, which targeted a maternity ward.

Nicușor Dan's trip to Ukraine comes after, on Tuesday, he paid an official visit to Chisinau. He was received by Maia Sandu, with whom he held a common press conference and went to lay a wreath at Stefan cel Mare's grave.

“Within the meeting, President Nicușor Dan will strengthen the commitment of Romania to continue to support Ukraine, on all levels, as well as to be involved in efforts to reach a fair and lasting peace, but also in those related to reconstruction,” the Presidential Administration said on Wednesday.

At the same time, Nicușor Dan will emphasize “the importance of maintaining the unit and the coherent approach throughout the region represented at the summit, for the overall security of the European continent” and “will emphasize the need to pay special attention to the Black Sea, including from the perspective of the security of commercial routes”.

“On the occasion of the trip to Odessa, President Nicușor Dan will also participate in a trilateral meeting Romania- Republic of Moldova- Ukraine, during which he will discuss with his counterparts about the most important interconnection projects, especially the energy infrastructure, the process of accession to the European Union and the cooperation in the field of security. High level for the first time, showing the determination of the three neighboring states to intensify cooperation and coordination, through a medium and long term dialogue.
