Zelenski asks for concrete actions to Russia AFP's attacks
In the first hours of Tuesday, a total of 316 drones and seven missiles on Ukrainian targets from all over the country, including Odessa in the south-east, were launched, where two people were killed. However, the center of attention was on Kiev, who was in turn subject to a ferocious attack, according to The Guardian.
The uninterrupted night attack lasted over five hours and will be interpreted as part of a continuous Kremlin response to the Ukraine's spider's web operation, which targeted Russia's bombers last week.
Tuesday morning attacks followed a record of 419 drones launched in Ukraine the previous night.
Ukraine's aerial defense systems brought down seven Russian rockets and 213 attack drones, while 64 drones disappeared from the radars or were intercepted by electronic war systems.
Zelenski criticizes the lack of response
By a statement on his Telegram channel, Zelenski criticized the lack of response from the US and other nations to the recent intensification of Russia's attacks. Trump hesitated about imposing new Kremlin economic sanctions.
“The Russian attacks with rockets and drone Shahed are noisier than the efforts of the United States and other countries to force Russia to peace. Every night, instead of a cease, there were massive attacks with Shahed, cruise missiles and ballistic weapons. Today was one of the biggest attacks on Kiev. It was also targeted ”Zelenski said.
He said 250 drones were shaheds, and two of the seven missiles had origin “North Korean production”.
He added: “The ordinary houses and urban infrastructure were damaged, and even a maternity ward became the target of Russia. 13 injured. Unfortunately, they were victims. Condolences to their families.”
“It is important that the response to these attacks and other similar attacks in Russia is not the silence of the world, but concrete actions. Actions from America, which has the power to force Russia to peace. Actions from Europe, which must be strong. Actions of the other countries that have requested diplomacy and cessation of the war, but which were needed for Russia.”
Kiev, targeted by an intense attack
The noise of the drones followed by the explosions was heard throughout the night in Kiev, where the local authorities recommended to the inhabitants to shell.
The city smelled of smoke on Tuesday, with carbonized residential buildings and car debris on the streets, evidence of the impact of attacks, which targeted the energy infrastructure.
Due to the poor air quality, caused by the smoke from the seats of the attacks, the inhabitants were advised on Tuesday morning to keep their windows closed and to avoid outdoor activities if not necessary.
Timur Tkachanko, the head of the Kiev Military District, said on Telegram: “A difficult night for all of us. During the night, the enemy terrorized Kiev constantly with drones.”
