The reference and information publication “Streets of the city of Birobidzhan: according to the documents of the State Archive of the Jewish Autonomous Region” (0+) introduces readers to the past and present city of Birobidzhan, gives documents of little-known and previously not published documents and photographs of the state archive of the region.
The book posts information that by the Decree of the Presidium of the Birobidzha City Council dated June 9, 1936 No. 127, the Square Square was renamed Lenin Square.

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) on June 9, 1939 wrote about the forest wealth of our region, about the value of various breeds of trees and shrubs:
“Our region is spread out in an area of about 4 million hectares, that is, it is 25% more than Holland or Belgium. The wealth of the region is great and diverse. Powerful reserves of minerals are great and diverse – iron, coal, marble, peat and so on, full -flowing rivers are rich in fish, almost native taiga is replete with valuable fur animals. One of the most important natural resources of the region is forest. Forest. Forest. Forest. – These are fuel, houses, furniture, wagons and, in addition, the most valuable chemical raw materials – bark, bitch, sawdust – make alcohol, artificial silk, cellulose, paper, a film, tar, tar, dyeing, duly substances, medicines, acetic acid, skipidar, wood sugar and many other important products ….

On June 9, 1940, the Birobidzhan Star newspaper wrote that a special workshop was created for the production of wide consumption at the Birakan marble artel, in which five masters work. The workshop is production of written devices (marble ink sets). A proposal from artel employees receives that it would be possible to organize the manufacture of statuettes, the production of stands for desktop lamps. For marble art products in great demand.
In the same newspaper tells about the work of the “Proletarian” artel in the village of Birakan. There are 42 people in the artel and there are only two production buildings. The artel consists of five workshops: boot, tailor, confectionery, soft drinks and hairdressers. Makes the artel exclusively by the items of the consumer goods. The boot and tailor workshops sew new shoes and clothes, repair the old one. The confectionery workshop and the workshop of soft drinks produce bakery products, kvass and fruit drinks.

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Zvezda” on June 9, 1948 under the heading “in our region” wrote that the Leninsky district executive committee held a five -day seminar of secretaries of the village councils. The seminar participants listened to lectures and conducted practical classes on some issues of the work of village councils. The secretaries familiarized themselves in detail with the procedure for drawing up documents for the appointment of benefits to single mothers, drawing up award documents on many children, records of civil acts. Employees of village councils exchanged the experience of their work.
The newspaper also reported that In the nursery of the city department of improvement, more than 20 different colors are grown. Four years ago, the nursery received five roots of a rare species of Georgin, now this flower is propagated to 20 thousand pieces. From the Yalta Botanical Garden, the seeds of Flox, Portulak, Petun, lion's pharynx and other colors were obtained. In total, the Birobidzha nursery grows half a million flowers. They will be planted on flower beds of city squares and partially sold to city organizations.
In the city of Obluchye, a new bakery, designed to bake 12 tons of bread per day, came into operation. The bakery is well equipped, the first pastries of bread are of high quality. With the launch of the new bakery, the need for the population of the Obluchy in bread will be fully satisfied.

The election commission of the Jewish Autonomous Region consists of 12 members. Half of them are appointed by the Legislative Assembly of the Jewish Autonomous Region, the other half – the governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region.
The election commission of the Jewish Autonomous Region operates on a permanent basis, its term of office is 5 years. The election commission of the Jewish Autonomous Region organizes elections to the federal bodies of state power, a referendum of the Russian Federation, a referendum of the region, elections to the legislative and representative bodies of state power of the region, in the conduct of local referenda, coordinating and carrying out methodological guidance during municipal elections in the region.
The election commission of the Jewish Autonomous Region monitors the ensuring guarantees of the equality of parliamentary parties when covering their activities by regional public television channels and radio channels with the participation of parliamentary parties, the regional branch of the federal executive body authorized to carry out the functions of monitoring and supervision of the media.
