Drivers are advised to avoid crossing the Giurgiu-Ruse bridge on Sunday, June 8, between 12:00 and 16:00, as traffic difficulties may occur due to a protest organized in the Russian city in Bulgaria, informs the Romanian Border Police.

According to an official statement, the Bulgarian authorities informed the Territorial Inspectorate of the Border Police Giurgiu that in the Russian cities, Vidin and Silistra there will be rallies and protest marches.
In Ruse, the event will include a car march that will cross including the roundabout from entering the former Russian-Giurgiu crossing point-essential access point to the friendship bridge.
During the course of these protests, road traffic in the area can be seriously affected, with the risk of forming blockages and significant delays in the car transit between Romania and Bulgaria.
The Territorial Inspectorate of the Giurgiu Border Police recommends the drivers to avoid crossing the Giurgiu-Ruse bridge between 12:00 and 16:00 and consults the official information sources before leaving. It is also recommended to respect the indications of public order authorities and, if possible, the use of alternative routes.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) also issued a travel warning for Bulgaria, in which it warns the possible disturbances of road traffic on Sunday, in the context of the announced protests.
