US President Donald Trump on Saturday, in a telephone interview for NBC News, his former billionaire Elon Musk collaborator with “serious consequences” if he finances democratic politicians who are applying against the Republicans voting in his fiscal plan, Agerpres informs.
Trump refused to specify at what consequences he refers, but added that he did not discuss a possible investigation against Musk.
Asked if his friendship with the owner of Tesla and Spacex companies is over, the president replied: “Yes, that's what I think.” Asked if he would still like to repair the relationship with Musk, Trump's answer was even shorter: “No!”
The relations between the two had already cooled after Musk, a great donor of Trump in the election campaign, criticized the fiscal plan driven by the latter and gave up the leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), a new institution created by the Republican President to reduce the expenses of the American administration.
Exchange of offenses between Trump and his former ally
New Musk's critics to this plan, which he considers insufficiently austere, degenerated on Thursday in an exchange of offenses between him and Trump, each posting such messages on their own social networks, Musk on X and Trump on Social Truth.
It has reached the point where Musk said that Donald Trump appears in the still undivided files looking at Pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
“It is time to throw the big bomb,” Musk posted, 53, on Thursday, for the more than 220 million followers, after a several -day tirade against the president of the expenses, which are being adopted in Congress.
“Donald Trump appears in the Epstein files. This is the real reason why they were not made public,” he noted. “A good day, DJT!” After two days, Elon Musk wiped the post.
Elon Musk deleted the message in which he stated that Trump appears in Epstein files/ posting from X, eliminated after two days
In February, the Department of Justice published over 100 pages with the telephone contacts and the records of Epstein's flights related to the accusations of sexual trafficking brought to the financier, who was once friends with powerful politicians such as former President Bill Clinton, businessmen like Bill Gates and even Trump.
Epstein's former lawyer appeared on Thursday to dispel any rumors that the president involved. “I was hired to lead the defense of Jeffrey Epstein as a criminal lawyer 9 days before his death,” the lawyer David Schoen posted. “He asked for my advice for months before that. I can say with authority, unequivocally and definitively that he had no information that would harm the President Trump.”
The White House councilors have reported that the president's ties with Epstein will probably reappear in a more complete version of the files, but I do not think that no alleged illegality will be revealed.
“It is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is dissatisfied with One Big Beautiful Bill because he does not include the policies he wanted,” said Karoline Leavitt, the white house spokesman. “The president focuses on the adoption of this historical law and on the return of our country to greatness.”
On Friday, Trump speculated that the richest man in the world “lost his mind”, proof being the series of posts on X.
