Minor incidents at Bucharest Pride 2025: five people led to the police after being detected with an egg formwork

Five people who had an egg formwork on them were identified on Saturday near the Bucharest Pride Marching area by the capital's gendarmes. It is believed that they wanted to use eggs to hit the protesters. Other minor incidents have been reported.

There are reasonable suspicions that the eggs could have been used in a hostile manifestation compared to the event in progress. The respective persons were taken to the police station for identification and to clarify the factual situation.

“This form of manifestation, consisting of throwing eggs to express dissatisfaction with a certain activity, has been encountered in other public assemblies,” the institution said.

The incident happened around 4:30 pm, at the intersection of the Victoriei Path with Gheorghe Manu Street, during a control carried out by the law enforcement within the prefilment device.

The Bucharest Pride 2025 event, which started at 4:00 pm in Victoriei Square, is legally held, with authorization, and has attracted thousands of participants.

The gendarmerie confirmed that, in the area of ​​the event, several people were observed who expressed their dissatisfaction with the organization of the march. These are under the supervision of the law enforcement, which will take legal measures, if applicable.

The organizer of the event refused the presence of any counter -businessmen in the area, in accordance with Law no. 60/1991 regarding the organization of public meetings. According to the law, the organization or participation in simultaneous countermissions in the same place is sanctionable with a fine between 500 and 5,000 lei. Also, the Criminal Code stipulates that the prevention by any means of an authorized public assembly is punished by imprisonment from 3 months to one year or with a fine.

The gendarmerie appealed to the participants not to respond to the challenges and to immediately signal to the law enforcement any suspicious behavior.

Also on Saturday the march of normality took place, organized by SOS Romania

The march of normality started at noon, June 7, with a starting point in Victoriei Square. The participants marched on the route: Roman Square – University Square – Unirii Square – Metropolitan Hill. The event ended around 5:00 pm.

Among the protesters was Diana Şoșoaca. Many of the participants wore tricolor flags, icons, wooden crosses and banners such as: “The family is based on the marriage between a man and a woman”, “Deception, not decadence” or “our ancestors have sacrificed for Great Romania, not for homosexual marriages.”

The atmosphere was dominated by church songs, religious and nationalist prayers and slogans. Messages such as: “Bucharest is not Sodom”, “Romania, Orthodox country” and “Faith, Family, Fatherland”. A group of participants recited the prayer “Our Father”, while others wore banners with religious and traditionalist messages.
