“Trade unions operating in the PZU Group companies again apply for an urgent meeting with the Minister. The purpose of the meeting is to present an extremely disturbing situation and growing social tension in one of the largest companies of the Treasury” – we read in the common letter of trade unions operating in PZU addressed to the Minister of State Asset Jakub Jaworowski.

“The actions that have taken in the employee rights that the current management have taken in a particularly sensitive election time will not remain without consequences. A separate letter was also addressed to the PZU Board, in which we read:

“In reference to the collective dispute that has been undergoing since 2017, regarding, among others, the lack of basic sources of labor law in PZU Group companies, which is currently at the mediation stage with the participation of a mediator, the Inter -Enterprise Trade Union of employees of the PZU Group” Jedność “, – as a representative organization in PZU SA and PZU Życie SA – acting on the basis of art. 8 of the Act of May 23, 1991 on the resolution of collective disputes, requests an immediate meeting with the management boards of companies in order to: discuss the issues covered by the subject of dispute; determining the possibility of concluding an agreement or writing a discrepancy report. ”

It was added that the results of the talks will depend on further actions, including conducting – in accordance with applicable law – a strike referendum among PZU SA and PZU Życie SA employees.

The decision to connect PZU with Bank Pekao and the creation of a new structure, headed by Pekao, is positive – says the Minister of State Asset Jakub Jaworowski. What's more, he estimates that the merger of both companies will release PLN 200 billion in capital. In his opinion, this is a step in the right direction of creating a strong Bancassurance group.
