A man was preventively arrested after setting fire to the former partner's car and violated the protection order dozens of times

A man from Cluj County was preventively arrested, after he intended the car of the former concubine, parked in Mihai Viteazu. The individual repeatedly ignored the protection order issued by the court, repeatedly contacting the victim and addressing death threats.

The prosecutors set the criminal action against it for several crimes: destruction, violation of the protection order in continuous form and threat, also in a continuous form, according to a statement sent on Tuesday, June 3, by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Turda Court, quoted by News.ro.
According to investigators, on April 28, 2025, the man set fire to the former partner's car. The car was parked outside the road, in the village of Mihai Viteazu, and the flames also threatened the nearby homes.
In addition to the act of destruction, the suspect repeatedly violated the protection order imposed by the Turda Court. In total, the authorities documented:
– an unauthorized contact on May 14, 2025;
– 21 materials for violation of the order, committed between July 7 and September 4, 2024;
– another 6 acts of the same type, between September 30, 2024 and March 29, 2025;
– 11 acts of threat, transmitted through messages between January 2024 – March 2025, in which the man was referring directly and indirect to physical aggression and murder.
The individual stole the criminal prosecution and was detected following a home search.
Subsequently, the judge of rights and freedoms within the Turda Court admitted the proposal for a preventive arrest made by the prosecutor.
The case is instrumented by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Turda District Court, with the support of police officers from the 9th Rural Police Section.
