Daniel Bîrligea (25 years old) and Elias Charalambous (44 years old) awarded their prizes for the player, respectively the coach of May. The striker obtains his third trophy in the “best” project, while coach Cypriot is at the fifth, equaling Gheorghe Hagi
For the trophy “Player of May”, Gazeta nominated 5 footballers: Daniel Bîrligea (FCSB), Alexandru Mitriță (U Craiova), Dan Nistor (U Cluj), Ianis Stoica (Hermannstadt) and Beni Nkololo (CFR Cluj).
Daniel Bîrligea won the “Player of the Moon” award
The winner of May 2025 was designated for the third time Daniel Bîrligea, from FCSB!
The 25-year-old striker passed in the CV the second champion title of Romania, after the one he had with CFR Cluj.
In May he was on the field in all the victories of his team and scored important goals with Dinamo and Craiova University, both on the national arena.

Elias Charalambous, for the fifth time “coach of the moon”
At the second category, “the coach of the month”, the newspaper nominated 3 technicians: Elias Charalambous (FCSB), Dan Petrescu (CFR Cluj), Bogdan Andone (FC Argeș).
The winner was Charalambous, coach Cypriot entered the history of Romanian football and FCSB.
It is the “main” red-blue with the most days spent on the technical bench in the last 20 years and with the two consecutive champion titles has equalized Laurențiu Reghecampf's performance.

How to vote for the “player of the month” and “coach of the moon”
The algorithm used to establish the winners is a very simple one. The GSP editorial is the nominations, based on statistics and clear performance figures, then vote 3 categories: GSP.ro readers, editorial journalists and five specialists (former footballers or important coaches), which change from one month to another. The first ranked in each top receives 5 points, the one on the 2nd place, 4 points, etc. GSP editorial vote matters double.
