Salina Praid, one of the most famous saline in Romania, was destroyed by the waters brought by the strong rains of the last days. Due to the infiltration, the underground dam has given up, and the salt mine galleries can be collapsed at any time.

Salina Praid is an important tourist objective in Harghita County.

Last year, about 470,000 people paid the ticket of 60 lei to visit the saline, some coming to treat various conditions. Local tourism and related businesses have become vital to the area, according to a hotnews report made on the spot by journalist Dana Coțovanu.

In the halls of the underground of the tourist mine, tourists found, among others, children's playgrounds, restaurant, tennis tables, sports fields.

Harghita's tourist “treasure” is now in danger, after being flooded by the waters of the Corund stream, whose flow has increased due to heavy rains.
