The Krasnoyarsk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “TsOK APK” spoke about a serious danger that ordinary edible mushrooms can be represented.
According to statistics, annually, mushroom pickers massively enter the hospitals after a successful “quiet hunt”, but not only well -known poisonous species become the cause of poisoning. It turns out that Under certain circumstances, ordinary edible mushrooms turn into “toxic lips”, accumulating radionuclides and joints of heavy metals in dangerous concentrations.
“According to research, mushrooms are unsurpassed drives of radioactive cesium. Their ability to concentrate this element is striking – the level of content is 20 times higher than the indicators of even the most contaminated area of the forest litter. Mushrooms growing in waterlogged forest areas are especially intensively intensifying, ”said The head of the department of chemical toxicological studies of the testing laboratory Nadezhda Terekhova.
The recordings for the absorption of radioactive substances are considered Oils, boletus, brushes, pigs, red -haired, pink waves, loads and subgroups are dark. This is explained by the location of their mycelium in the upper soil layers, where the concentration of radionuclides reaches maximum values.
The first mushrooms are especially dangerous after the arid period – Due to the increased accumulation of toxic elements.
“The reason for such a high absorption ability of mushrooms lies in their biochemical composition: potassium, which is the main mineral component of fruit bodies, is chemically similar to cesium-137, which determines the active absorption of the latter with mushrooms“, – experts say.
The smallest amount of radioactive elements contains In chanterelles, honey agarics, wild champignons, rawers, lines and oyster mushrooms. Mushrooms with white pulp, representatives of the umbrella family and raincoats are also considered relatively safe, although they accumulate slightly more radionuclides.
Experts warn that all overripe mushrooms contain more harmful compounds, so their collection is undesirable. It is also not recommended to pick mushrooms along highways, in industrial areas and city. “The mycelium, absorbing substances from an extensive territory, can concentrate harmful elements in fruit bodies even on clean soils. This means that the increased content of hazardous substances is not always associated with the environmental problems of the region. Harmful chemicals are distributed everywhere: industrial emissions are transferred by air masses and fall out with rains even in environmentally friendly areas, making them potentially dangerous, ”the scientists say.
