CSM Oradea qualified for the third time in a row in the final of the National League, after a dramatic victory in “decisive”

CSM CSU Oradea won the decisive match of the series with CSO Voluntari, score 90-86, and qualified in the final of the National Men's Basketball League, where, for the third time, it will meet U-BT Cluj-Napoca.

In the first 4 parties of the semifinal, CSM Oradea and CSO Voluntari divided their victories. The Bihorians won the 2 and 3 games, while the Ilfovians prevailed in the first and fourth duel. At the score of 2-2, the series returned to Oradea Arena, for a decisive match.

CSO Voluntari drove in 80% of the time, CSM Oradea won victory

CSM Oradea played better in the first minutes and drove for a short time, but CSO Voluntari quickly took over and found out for more than three quarters. At the break, the difference was 5 points in favor of the guests: 36-41.

After returning from the locker rooms, the game was balanced for a quarter, the over 3000 fans of Oradea putting pressure on opponents and referees. The red-blue ones defended themselves very well, while the white-blue, predominantly resorted to individual actions.

One by one, Kodi Justice, Mike Caffey and Justin Edler-Davis went out and managed to reject every attempt by Cristian Achim's students to approach the table. But they did not give up, fought to the end and, thanks to Brandon Brown, Donatas Tarolis and Kris Richard, made the score balanced again.

Finally, CSO Voluntari resorted to the same individualist game, while CSM Oradea caught upset And, after the three-point basket of Sayeed Pridgett, he returned to the lead: 88-85. The Ilfovenii failed to return, and the Bihorians won 90-86 and closed the series: 3-2.

The winners of the winner were Brandon Brown (23 points), Kris Richard (18 points), Donatas Tarolis (14 points, 8 recovery) and Sayeed Pridgett (11 points). CSM Oradea had 17 decisive passes and 31 recovery.

On the other side CSO Voluntari gathered 12 decisive passes and only 22 recovery. The best players of the winner of the Romanian Cup were Mike Caffey (20 points), Kodi Justice (18 points), Justin Edler-Davis (14 points) and Lucas Tohătan (12 points).

As a result of this result, CSM Oradea qualified in the final of the National Men's Basketball League, where U-BT Cluj-Napoca awaits it. The two rivals meet for the third time in the fight for the trophy.

In the semifinals, Mihai Silvășan's students passed with 3-0 CS Vâlcea 1924who will be the opponent of Cso Voluntari in the small final.

  • Match 1 (Oradea) – June 2

  • Match 2 (Oradea) – June 4

  • Match 3 (Cluj-Napoca) – June 8

  • Match 4 (Cluj-Napoca) – June 10 (if needed)

  • Match 5 (Oradea) – June 13 (if necessary)
