Stelian Bujduveanu was chosen for the first time general counselor in 2016, and in December 2020 he was chosen for the first time deputy mayor, a position he maintained in the next term. Today, the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest decided on Friday to take over the duties of mayor of the Capital as a result of the departure of Nicușor Dan to the Victoria Palace.

Bujduveanu, now 35 years old, has entered politics in 2012 as a member of the Liberal Democrat Party, and since 2015, with the PDL-PNL merger, I became a member of the National Liberal Party, according to the personal site.

Currently, he is the first vice-president of the National Liberal Party, the Bucharest Branch, and the party treasurer at national level.

He started the activity in the public domain in 2015, when he held the position of counselor in the central public administration. A year later it became the youngest general counselor. In 2020, he was appointed counselor of the Minister of Economy, Energy and Business Environment. Here, he managed the relationship between the Capital City Hall and Electrocentrale Bucharest – SA (ELCEN).

Shortly after, he returns to the CGMB and is elected deputy mayor of the capital in 2020, a position he renews in the next term.

What wealth does Stelian Bujduveanu have

The new interim mayor owns an urban area of ​​5330 m2 in the town of Mihai Viteazu in Constanța county, bought in 2008. Also in this locality he says he owns commercial/production spaces of 514 m2.

He also owns an apartment of 64.28 m2, along with his wife, in Bucharest, bought in 2017. He also has jewelry worth 30,000 euros that he has acquired during 2017-2025.

It has to repay a loan due in 2047 at the railway commercial bank, worth 311,000 lei. In the last declaration of wealth, he states that he received a donation of 200,000 lei from Gheorghe Bujduveanu.

Stelian Bujduveanu received in the last year a total salary 190,730 from the City Hall. The wife received 77,448 as a child -raising allowance. The two have 2 children together.

Bujduveanu, interim mayor

The General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest decided on Friday that the liberal deputy mayor Stelian Bujduveanu should take over the duties of mayor of the Capital. Nicușor Dan presented his resignation, which will enter into force Monday, May 26.

Initially, Adrian Vigheciu from the PSD had to take over the mandate of interim mayor, but in the CGMB meeting on Friday the councilors voted in favor of the Liberal. There were 46 validly expressed votes, of which 6 canceled, 38 votes “for” and 8 “against”. Stelian Bujduveanu will be an interim mayor until the organization of early elections.
