Mehmet Topal's first reaction after the separation of Ploiești Petro: “It is impossible to forget”

Mehmet Topal, who started his career as a coach in Romania, on the Bank of Petroleum Ploiești, officially ceased contractual relations with Ploiești Petrol.

The coach sent a message of separation to the Ploiesti fans, claiming that this year will occupy a special place in his life and that he will never forget the time spent on the Petroleum Bank. He added that he will support Ploieșteni “wholeheartedly” from now on, declaring himself a focused fan of the club.

The Turk thanked all those who were with him all this time, from colleagues from staff and players to fans, transmitting “love and respect” to the Romanian people who received with open arms. But Topal remains optimistic after the first experience on the bench, looking with confidence to the future.

“I left a year ago that will occupy a special place in my life. It is impossible to forget the period with the Petrolul Ploiești team, in my mandate of technical director.

Every moment I lived on the ground and outside, the friendships I tied, the experiences I have accumulated are very valuable to me. Now I am a fan of this club.

I will always continue to support the oil with all my heart. I would like to thank the entire staff of the club, my players, fans, technical team and Romanian people who hugged me. I really lived this story in the most accurate way. Now is the time for new pages … Oil will always be in my heart. With love and respect … ”, Mehmet Topal said in an Instagram message.

Mehmet Topal came to the bench of “yellow wolves” at the beginning of the Superliga season, after replacing Laszlo Balint. The first separation of the Turkish oil coach produced in December 2024, after several negative results in the chain.

Topal's second term on the Oil bench began in March, after Mutu left the “Wolf” Technical Bank. The two parties involved, Topal and Oil had signed, after its return, a two -month valid contract, with an extension option.

The clause to extend the contract was no longer activated, as the Turk did not want to assume the position of coach. With Topal, the two Turkish coach, Cafer Kaynar and Hamit Aykurt, also ceased the club.

Mehmet Topal ticked 32 parties on Ploiești Petroleum Bank, recording 11 victories, 13 draws and 8 defeats and finishing the season in the 9th position in the Superligi ranking.
