The inhabitants alerted the authorities around 21:20 local, after witnessing violent behavior on Ferin Calbeton Street. Witnesses say the beating broke out when two large groups of supporters began to shout and throw insults.
The situation quickly degenerated into a battle, with Man's fans. United and Spurs slammed whatever they had at hand. An ultras has overturned a table from a terrace, using it to attack the other group.
They were also thrown away bottles, but also trash cans, being a real chaos on the streets. Several local police crews intervened as a matter of urgency after the beating notifications were received and they quickly restored the order.
According to the English press, no arrests were made, but the police officers remained in the area to keep the situation under control. An ambulance was also sent to the scene, and several people received medical care after the conflict between the two teams. However, there was no need for hospitalization for any fan.
