Did Pope Leon XIV “cleverly avoid” LGBT flags? A surprising explanation

Why are we writing about it

An English -speaking entry, showing a brief recording with the welcoming Pope Leon XIV, has millions of views. It is also made available by many users in Poland.

“The Pope goes one side, sees a rainbow flag, so he turns his back and passes to the other side,” wrote Krystian Kratiuk from Polonia Christiana. “You can? You can!” – commented this right -wing publicist Piotr Semka. Some Internet users also approached this enthusiastically, writing: “It promises to finally be a great service of the bishop of Rome”, “Step”, “Great signal”, “Pope Leon XIV cleverly bypassed the LGBT flag.”

What was the flag?

However, one of the faithful did not hold the rainbow flag of the LGBT+community. A note of the community (in Spanish) appeared on the X website. “The flag in the film is not the LGBT flag, but the flag of peace, a very popular flag in Italy and used since 1961. It can be seen that the flag colors are arranged in reverse order than the colors of the LGBT flag, and in the middle there is the word” pace “(room in Italian).”

What is the difference between a room flag and a LGBT flag

The flag on the recording has seven colorful belts, arranged from above in the following order: purple, blue, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. It was used for the first time during the March of Peace in the early 1960s.

Meanwhile, the LGBT flag is six horizontal belts arranged in order (from above): red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple.
