Pavel Badea (57 years old), the director of the Craiova University Sports Club, spoke on Thursday morning, at GSP LIVE, the program moderated by Alexandru Barbu, about the current format of the Romanian Cup, which he challenged, hoping that in the near future he will be modified.

In the end, only the first two occupants of the group qualify in the quarter -finals, which are played in the unique leg, on the field of the team that won the group.

“It would have been an extra trophy in the club's record, a satisfaction for our supporters, it was clear a big step forward.
In addition to the inconvenience of the organization of this competition, we see that there is that inequity regarding the financial resource. I have now learned from Mr. Ioanițoaia that CFR has taken an amount 24 times higher than the finalist, it is an incorrect way of dividing the money in this cup.
It is clear that the federation will have to rethink in the near future, in order not to reach the situations of previous years, when some important teams were presented only from the desire not to be punished. The situation of the FCSB, which has derided and disregarded this competition.
It needs an organizing formula for this competition, more attractive and more correct in its course.
I liked the old format more: then it was drawn, it was a tour, you had the chance to prove directly that you were correct, not in one match, not with groups. There is a lot of subjectivism in the current way of conducting the competition.
Probably there are arguments that the federation should explain to us, arguments that underlie this way of organization. To explain them better, these arguments do not look correct until now, ”said Pavel Badea, exclusively, at GSP Live.
