The first deputy head of the Presidential Administration, Sergei Kiriyenko, instructed the readiness of the Abkhazia airport for opening in the summer of 2025 during a working meeting with the head of the coordination headquarters on the reconstruction and construction of the Badra Gunb airport. Fixed: the final of the work on the concreting of the runway, the prefinal on the installation of light -signal equipment, labeling and layout of the flight field, successfully conducted flight checks.
The agreement on public-private partnership for the reconstruction of Sukhum Airport was concluded in November 2023. During the meeting, Badra Gunb asked Kiriyenko to help organize constant air traffic between Russia and Abkhazia before the summer season of 2025. And to provide material assistance to schools and sles of the republic in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
