They can be locked in a cell and pay PLN 500 a day for it. What for?

Guests (or actually prisoners) report at the “Prison Inside Me” hotel in Hongcheon, 80 km from Seoul, not to take advantage of SPA treatments or eat exquisite dishes, but to get locked in a cell.
As the Daily Mail writes, the hotel was founded over a decade ago by a former lawyer, Kwon Yong-Seok and his wife. The goal is to enable people to experience life without everyday comforts, which – as the founders say – allows us to make closer contact with themselves.
Overnight costs the equivalent of approx. PLN 500 per night. There is a simple mat on the cell floor, and next to it a small desk and toilet.
Mobile phones are prohibited, there is no way to check the time, there are no mirrors for the purposes. Dinner is served by a hole in the door, as in some prisons with a high rigor.
Hotel in South Korea as a prison
The main point of stay is to be self -reflection – it is encouraged to meditate, write a diary and perform simple yoga exercises.
Guests, mainly South Korean citizens, are looking for digital detox. They say they like “prison experience”. Staying in “Prison Inside Me” is to be a chance to break away from the pressure of society and work behind.
“I didn't know how to stop working”
The hotel founder was fascinated by the idea that the insulation period could be good for mental health. He worked 100 hours a week.
“I didn't know how to stop working,” said Kwon Yong-Seok, quoted by the Daily Mail. “I felt as if I was kidnapped against my will and it seemed to me that I couldn't control my own life.”
He added: “I hope that this place offers visitors a chance to think about themselves.”
