Since the beginning of a full -scale war with Russia, Ukraine urged allies to provide it with Western -type military aircraft. In 2023, a number of countries agreed to transfer F-16 fighters. The first batch of this aviation was transferred to Ukraine at the end of July 2024. Four countries promised fighters to Ukraine: Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway. The exact number of the transferred F-16 was not called, but Zelensky said that now they are not enough.
