Csikszereda He promoted mathematically in Superliga, after the draw between CSM Reșița and Metaloglobus. Ciucanii will evolve for the first time in the first step of Romanian football. “Csikszereda” is the Hungarian name of Miercurea Ciuc.
After last year the team of Robert Ilyeș lost the promotion dam in front of Dinamo (0-2 and 0-0), Csikszereda authoritarian dominated the Liga 2 season, ensuring mathematically four stages before the end of the play-off.

Csikszereda, briefly: Ascension impossible to ignore in recent years
Red-blacks promoted in the second league in 2019and since then they have been transformed into one of the uncomfortable teams of the second league, especially in the parties held on the modernized “municipal” in Miercurea Ciuc. The place where Dinamo was eliminated from the Romanian Cup seven years ago and, at the same time, a modernized complex in the past years with money from the Hungarian government.
Now, Csikszeredaa club re -established in 2010 under the title of CSM Miercurea Ciucwill evolve into the superlig.
The club registered a huge profit in 2024, with revenues of 8.6 million euros, comparable to those of the University of Cluj, a band-off-off. A Exceeded several clubs from Superliga from this point of view: Gloria Buzău, Unirea Slobozia, Petrol Ploiești, UTA Arad, FC Botosani or Steel Galați.
- Csikszereda is part of Harghita County, where Hungarians represent 85% of the total population. Miercurea Ciuc has a population of almost 40,000 people, of whom 78.5% and Romanians 16.8%
CSM Resita has 40 points, Csikszereda 52. The band prepared by Flavius Stoican has four disputes and 12 points put into play, so I can no longer detach Ciucani, The main criterion of separation in the second step is the number of points obtained in the regular season. Csiskzereda has finished on #1.
78.5%From the population of Miercurea Ciuc are Hungarians, while Romanians represent below 17%
The star has no right to promote, and Robert Ilyeș's band can no longer lose one of the positions that ensure promotion in L1.
The first goal was achieved: at the middle of the play-off, It was officially decided that FK Csíkszereda will promote directly in the first Romanian league in the next season, so there will be no pressure on the team on Saturday.
This is due to the equality result, 1-1, between Reșița and Metaloglobus, so the difference between us and these two teams is 12 points before our Saturday match.
Reșița and Metaloglobus have only 12 points to win in the remaining four stages, and even if one of them wins all the matches, And FK Csíkszereda, absurd speaking, would not get any point in the next five parties, it would still be on equal points with us.
According to the current regulation of the federation, in case of equal play-off, the first criterion is whether there was rounding (which was not the case in Liga 2), and the second criterion is the number of points accumulated in the regular season: Being the winners of the regular season, we have, of course, accumulated more points than Reșița and Metaloglobus.

After five years, in 1988, he was promoted again in the third division, but then under the name of Rapid. In that season, the band from Miercurea Ciuc finished in third place in the standings, so for the first time from the beginning it was close to advanced on the second line. The next season did not go so well, they finished 14th in the 16 -team league and relegated again.
