4.1 degree earthquake in Vrancea

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 took place on Friday night in Vrancea county, at a depth of 80 kilometers, according to information published by the National Institute for Research and Development for Earth Physics (INCDFP).

“On April 18, 2025, at 18:43:16 (local time of Romania), it produced in the seismic area Vrancea, (county) Vrancea, an average earthquake with ML 4.1, at a depth of 80.0 km,” announced INCDFP.

The earthquake occurred near the following cities: 17 km west of Focșani, 65 km north of Buzău, 78 km southwest of Bârlad, 90 km west of Galați, 92 km east of Sfântu-Gheorghe, 93 km south of Bacău, 95 km northwest of Braila.
