The senator comments on the decision of Donald Trump. “Chaos will finally fall”

Rounds, which sits, among others In Senate Committees for Defense and Intelligence, he reacted thus to the unexpected decision of President Trump to suspend for 90 days of higher duties for almost 60 countries in the world and at the same time another increase in customs duties on goods from China to 125 percent. As he assessed, although the Minister of Finance Scott Bessent and spokeswoman for the White House Karoline Leavitt claimed that Trump's return was “part of the plan from the beginning”, these translations are doubtful.
– I doubt it. This is one of those situations where the administration found a path forward. I suspect that it was an opportunity to send a signal to China and at the same time giving some alternative to those introduced duties that proved not to be very popular in the markets – said the senator.
“This chaos will fall”
At the same time, he expressed concerns about volatility and chaos in making decisions by President Trump. – We all look at it, we see it and we hope that this variability, this chaos will fall at some point – said the politician. He also expressed the hope that Chaos would not undermine trust in the United States as a partner and an ally. “But we have already seen chaos on the markets and it cannot be ruled out that we will see him again in the near future,” Senator Rounds warned.
Senator of Democrats Gary Peters from Michigan also drew attention to chaos and uncertainty. As he said, Trump's suspension of duties, not their abolition, will only intensify the uncertainty that will hit business.
– Businesses cannot operate in such conditions. They don't know what will happen in these 90 days, or we won't have a replay again. So these duties should be lifted because they are real damage to the economy – said the politician. He noted, however, that duties have some justification when it comes to China, because America “has specific problems with them that he must solve.”
