There is no need to raise tariffs: Ukrzaliznytsia reported about 100 billion income
Last year, Ukrzaliznytsia received 102.9 billion UAH of net income, and included in the dozens of the most income companies of Ukraine.
At the same time, for the first six months, the company received a profit of UAH 3.1 billion. And in the second half of the year – a loss of 2.7 billion.
The UZ stated that they wanted to raise freight tariffs to solve their loss problems.
Instead, market participants and experts say that these losses are a consequence of inefficient management, and they recommend that the UZ finally resolve the issue of corruption and ticket mafia.
If the UZ continues to raise tariffs on cargo that remain the basis of its yield, the company will receive even more losses. Because exporters will switch to vehicles.
