The minimum of two large Russian regions threaten interruptions in water supply due to the shallowing of rivers. Problems have already begun in the Rostov and Yaroslavl regions.
The drought and, as a result, the death of fish can happen in Rostov-on-Don, Kalach-on-Don, Voronezh, Novomoskovsk, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Astrakhan, Balakovo, Zavolzhie and Rybinsk. In the latter, people arrange walks along the shallow rivers of the Volga (on the video).
According to Mash, the expert mute Alexander Shuvalov, the reason for the shallowing of the Volga and Don is a warm winter. Due to the lack of snow and quick melting, the rivers simply have nothing to fill in the spring. Forecasts are disappointing – only abundant rains can help. According to the Ministry of Emergencies, the low water level can cause problems with water supply at enterprises and mass death of fish.
