People's Deputy estimated the re -export of scrap metal at UAH 2 billion not received.
Last year, almost 300,000 tons of ferrous scrap were taken to the European Union through zero duty on export. But then he went to Turkey and other countries, bypassing a duty of 180 euros in tone.
According to the deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development, Dmitry Kysilevsky, this has led to the state budget of about UAH 2 billion in revenues.
“If this scrap went to Ukrainian factories, it would have created more of the cost in production, more taxes, the Armed Forces could receive more money to finance the needs of Ukraine's defense,” the People's Deputy wrote.
Ukraine should begin consultations with European partners on their ability to track the end consumer of raw materials, the People's Deputy is convinced. And also – to do everything to make the scarce raw materials remain and processed in the country.
