According to the plant, high school graduates are in a slightly different situation for the first year of study. If they want to receive a pension also for September, they must submit a request by the end of this month for the continuation of the payment of the benefit along with a certificate from the university confirming admission to college.

Not everyone has to renew documents every year. If the school or university issues a certificate for the entire education period (e.g. for a 5-year studies), ZUS will pay the benefit in accordance with the date in the document. However, it should be remembered that ZUS can verify at any time whether the child is actually continuing to study.

A student or a student who receives a survivor's pension must inform ZUS that he has interrupted or finished it earlier. If he does not do so, he will have to return an unduly collected benefit along with interest.
