Opeli has already announced that it is working on parental control for ChatGPT, but only now the company has defined the time frame of implementation. “These steps are just the beginning” – was donated on a company blog in an entry that cites CNN. “We will continue to learn and strengthen our approach, guided by experts, aiming to make chatgpt as helpful as possible.”

According to CNN, parental control will include the option for parents to connect their account with a teenager account. In this way, parents will be able to manage the way chatgPT reacts to teenage users, disable functions such as memory and history of chats and receive notifications when the system detects the “moment of acute anxiety” during use.
This announcement appeared after the parents of 16-year-old Adam Raine filed a lawsuit against OpenAi, claiming that Chatgpt advised a teenager on his suicide.

As CNN reminds, last year's mother from Florida sued the Chatbot Character.AI platform in connection with her alleged role in the suicide of her 14-year-old son. There are also growing concerns about users who create emotional attachments to chatgpt, in some cases resulting in delusional episodes and alienation from the family, as indicated by the reports of The New York Times and CNN.

Opeli did not directly connect his new parental control with these recent reports. At the same time, in the blog post last week, the company said that “the last cases of people using chatgpt in the middle of sharp crises” prompted him to share more detailed information about his approach to security.
Openai spokesman in a statement for CNN admitted that Chatgpt has already contained funds, such as directing people to a crisis assistance line and other resources.
However, in a statement issued last week in response to Raine's suicide, the company stated that her Security can sometimes become unreliable when users are involved in long conversations with chatgPT.
