As “RZ” explains, it is the data at the end of July, made available by the Social Insurance Institution. “A month earlier, as many as 503 hospitals were in arrears with contributions, and the total amount of debt was PLN 1 billion. At the end of 2024, it was already 511 facilities, and their debt was PLN 954 million. The receivables are growing with the expiry of the following months of the year,” he lists.

“Rz” reminds that hospitals with arrears against ZUS may negotiate the terms of repayment of overdue contributions – currently 150 entities use such a relief, and the amount of discounts without interest and prolongation fee according to State on August 1, 2025 is PLN 650.9 million.

“One of the forms of relief is the repayment of the debt in installments, which allows you to regulate the arrears in the long run. After ZUS, the hospital's application for repayment in installments is not calculated, the interest for late payment is not calculated, but only the prolongation fee, which constitutes 50 percent of the rates of interest in the signing of the contract. If ZUS previously initiated enforcement proceedings against the hospital, it is suspended”- We read.

Another form of relief is the postponement of the payment deadline, dedicated to payers who have temporary financial problems preventing obtaining funds to settle contributions within the statutory payment date. (PAP)
