Should he remain the Speaker of the Sejm? Survey results


“Did you want Szymon Hołownia to be the Speaker of the Sejm until the end of the term?” Such a question was asked to participants of the SW Research survey for rp.pl. The results are quite unambiguous and are not beneficial for the Polish leader 2050.
31.2 percent granted to this question “yes” respondents. Much more, 46.2 percent respondents said “no”.
For the others, and there are 22.6 percent of them, it replied that “there is no opinion on this matter.”
“Nearly every second person participating in the study (46 percent) would not like Szymon Hołownia to be the Speaker of the Sejm until the end of the term. Almost every third examined (31 percent) believes that the current marshal should take a position until the next election, and one in four people has no opinion on this topic” – comments the results of the study for rp.pl Piotr Zimolzak, deputy president of the research agency, his research agency. “The change of the marshal is considered by every second respondent over 50 years of age and the same percentage of respondents who have higher education. Szymon Hołownia took the position of the Speaker of the Sejm on November 13, 2023, after the parliamentary elections, which took place on October 15, 2023. The new majority in the Sejm was created by the Civic Coalition, the third road (PSL and Poland 2050) and the left. According to the coalition agreement, which the parties announced on November 10, Hołownia will be the marshal only for the first half of the term.
After two years, exactly from November 13, 2025, the position of the Speaker of the Sejm is to be taken by Włodzimierz Czarzasty, the current deputy marshal and leader of the new left. This division of functions results from the findings contained in the coalition agreement.
