The fall in the prices for bananas in Russia led to the conflict of commerce and government in Ecuador. Officials refuse to lower the state certificate, and the demand in the Russian Federation was lower than the expected. At the same time, Russians are waiting for the rise in price of bananies within a month.
The demand for fruits has already fallen, the market reacted to this – and the price tag decreased from 160 to 120 rubles to retail. As it became known to Mash, the Ecuador is now a difficult situation after a crop failure due to the drought. Due to instability, businessmen have 30% less fat contracts than before. Prior to this, the cost of one box who in bulk has changed about half-dollar per week, now-1.5-2.
To avoid bankruptcy, Ecuadorian manufacturers are forced to go to negotiations with the authorities and ask to increase the state. For example: the State Process in 2023 was $ 6.65, and manufacturers wanted $ 8.5. The result – banana carousels will turn into an increase in prices in Russia, which suppliers have already announced.
