How the concept of 24 -hour stores in Poland works

– “Biedronka is consistently trying to respond to the expectations of her clients, carefully observing their needs and adapting the offer and availability of stores to their lifestyle” – emphasizes Janusz Chądzyński, an operational communication manager at the Biedronka network.
24 -hour stores operate, among others In places such as Władysławowo, Ustka, Jastarnia, Mikołajki and Giżycko, as well as in larger cities, e.g. Warsaw, Poznań, Bytom, Lublin and Medyka.
Open all night – but not everywhere
Decisions to open stores in 24-hour mode are made individually. Historical data, such as the level of sales, the intensity of customer traffic, or the characteristics of the area – e.g. the neighborhood of large housing estates or dorms are analyzed. – “Customers' needs are a priority, which is why we try to ensure the opportunity to make everyday purchases at a convenient time, also at night” – says Chądzyński.
As the representative of Biedronka explains, the number of employees during the night shift varies depending on many factors – including supply schedules, the number of vans, the size of the store, and its turnover. In practice, this means from 3 to 10 employees present at the night shift.
Janusz Chądzyński from the Biedronka network notes that at night customers usually buy basic daily products, although the increase in interest of the so -called impulse products. The largest traffic in stores is recorded just after midnight, then the number of customers drops to increase again around 5:00 in the morning.
