US President Donald Trump had a telephone call with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski on Friday, one day after the “disappointing” discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The announcement regarding the call between Trump and Zelenski was made by Andri Yermak, the head of the Kiev leader.
“A very important and significant discussion between the two presidents. All the details will be available soon,” Yermak wrote in an online post.
According to American Axios, the conversation between Trump and Zenski lasted about 40 minutes. The two discussed the intensification of Russian blows on Ukraine and the deliveries of air defense systems, according to the same source.
This new discussion between the two leaders takes place less than a day after a telephone conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, who has not produced any progress to settle the War in Ukraine.
In fact, the US president announced that he is “very disappointed” of his latest conversation with the President of Russia.
Trump, who confidently stated last week that Putin “is trying to resolve” the conflict, said after the telephone call on Thursday that he does not think the Russian leader wants to do so, reports Reuters.
Trump, who returned to the White House in January with the promise to promptly end a “blood bath” in Ukraine, said after Thursday that “I made no progress with him.”
